ISPCD History
In 2009, a group of individuals with shared ideals, met in Ahmedabad City, India for the first to discuss "sustainable dental public health inclusive with support to all specialities of dentistry" under self sponsorship. All agreed for the possibility of forming an international society for the dental public health care focused on developing countries as priority where there is huge gap of demand of dental needs and available services.
Representatives of dental public health and different specialities initially in India and later from various countries were included. It also to encompass all aspects of oral health not just dentistry. Today there are members in over 26 countries and it has become an recognised organisation bringing together motivated and caring professionals in the field.
